A Christmas Tradition “Gingerbread House”: You Make But You Don’t Eat It

Gingerbread houses have been around since the 16th century, and still going strong. Many people know them from the movie Hansel and Gretel. A story about a edible house of goodies while a witch is plotting to eat them. It’s funny because the story is dark, but they changed it so that children would love it. Gingerbread houses are a part of a child’s childhood. There are so many ways to make a gingerbread house these days. You can a have a normal house, a mansion, a Victorian home, and even a whole town. The creativity is through the roof in modern times. My sisters and I always made a gingerbread house on Christmas eve, but there is one rule. The rule is that you don’t eat it.

I have never been a fan of gingerbread, so I refused to eat the house. The frosting on the house hardened on the house, so it wasn’t good. I don’t know what type of frosting the stores sell with the houses, but they taste weird. One day I wanna bake my own house and put candy that I want on there. I only hate pre-made gingerbread. I wonder if it’s different if you make it from scratch.
