The one thing I love about anthropology and archaeology is the fact that you learn so much about the past. I also love paleontologist and other work in those fields that study things before we were here. It’s one thing to read about these things, but it’s another to actually be able to study them. I learn from experts and I am even more excited to say that I will be taking biological anthropology next semester. These are the experts that literally research, explore, and examine the bones of our before ancestors. It’s so beautiful, which is why I chose my major. There are just so many things to be explored.
When you start to learn about our ancestors and cousins, you get even more curious. We learned the most about them at the beginning and middle of the semester. I always had questions about them and my professor enjoyed answering them. I learned about the first fires, how the survived, the tools they used and so much more. This class made me wanna travel to many museums around the world to explore the history. I especially wanna see the cave drawings which showed what life was like then. Where is my artistic hand (lol). It makes you wanna learn everything about them.
I find life even more beautiful because of all these things. It’s crazy how far we have come but unfortunately many people don’t think like this. I find it weird that many people don’t care but only focus on what’s in front of them. It’s important to learn about our ancestors and not just about wars which is what history classes in high school teach you. One day, I will explain my knowledge to everyone including my own children. I want my kids to know more than what public schools teaches you. I might just home school my kids because I don’t trust public schools anymore. Our past goes far back before America was founded and ruined. It was once just land with people trying to survive. Some disappeared, others expanded and reproduced. I really wanna know what life was like then, physically. This is why someone needs to invent a time machine (lol).
