College can be a hassle, especially if you have a debt. I’m talking about if you didn’t have enough aid for the amount you owe. Getting financial aid can be a hassle for those who don’t know anything about it. You would be surprised by the number of people who don’t understand financial aid in college. There isn’t anything wrong with that because it’s very tricky. Once you get financial aid, you would think your done but your wrong. In most cases the amount they give you never covers your total. You will probably end up applying for parent plus, subsidized and unsubsidized loans which will probably cover the rest. Colleges are so expensive that even that wouldn’t cover it all. All this debt can put a strain on your mind and body.
This happened to me on my first semester of college and I made sure it never happened again. The only thing I hate is that I have to get loans every semester because school is so expensive. My first semester was the most difficult because I was a freshman and I didn’t know anything. My balance after the aid was around $1,200 which really shocked me. I wasn’t working either so I had to figure something out. I applied for the loans and I didn’t get a full amount because I waited too long so I had to get a job. My balance was around $500 after so I got a job on campus to pay it off. That was the most stress I ever had.
This is the reason why you have to do your financial aid early but at the same time, they are not helping. The government knows how expensive colleges are and they know how clueless students can be. It’s like their goal is to ruin fresh young people by throwing debt on them. They are ruing young people who want to get an education but we can’t because were so worried about paying something. I guess that’s life which shows how messed everything is.
