Are you constantly late for class? Do you hate morning classes? Are you constantly dragging your body to class looking like a zombie? Then this is for you. I will first explain how I wake up in the morning. Even though I have zoom calls, I still have some classes to go to in person. I am still annoyed but I guess it’s necessary. My nightly routine is normal, I go to bed around midnight (lol). I set my alarm for 6am so that I have time to get ready. Now, there were many times when I overslept and was too lazy but I do understand how to wake up.
The alarm goes off at 6am and you are too tired to move. Don’t touch that alarm until you sit up. You have to wake up eventually because it’s gonna continue to ring. That alarm will make your head hurt to the point where you say “fine” and just get up. That is me every morning. Quick short story: I was so tired one night that the next morning my alarm went off for 2 hours and my roommate thought something was wrong with me. I had around 15 messages from her. That’s what college does to you. Once you wake up, a hot morning shower is a must. Waking up with a hot shower feels so amazing in the morning. After that you are up, so you get dressed.
You wanna next do some stretches to relax your limbs and move your body. I always say that everyone should be able to touch their toes. Unless you have a disability, you should be able to do it or do it far enough. You don’t have to stretch but it feels good in the morning if your stiff. Next, eat something. Go eat breakfast somewhere on campus or in your dorm so that you get full. By this time you are feeling full and refreshed. You are probably thinking everyday can be like this. Maybe for some people but many would do this once or twice a week (me).
Other ways you can wake up is going to the gym. I went to the gym this morning at 6am because I had a zoom lecture at 8am. I just wanted to release some stress and run. After I finished, I came back, took a shower and ate something. I was fully woke and I felt great. It’s hard to force yourself yourself to wake up in the morning. Every college student have been through this but it gets better. You don’t have to keep over sleeping. Your alarm will help you unless you forget to set it. I have forgot a couple of times.
