The Souls of Black Folks

History speaks for itself when you are talking about the souls of black people. Our ancestors have been through a lot to get us here and we are continuing their legacy. No matter what we have done in the past decades, we have never forgotten where we came from. Loving your roots is what it’s all about. You Learn, sacrifice and thrive on what you are and what you will become.

Black Roots

There is something interesting about black people though. Other races might think, “oh they are wild and inappropriate with their language “ but that is what makes us different. Black people know how to have a good time and we are crowd pleasers. Life is too short to care about what others think. With everything going on now, the black communities are making huge impacts on things like violence and hate because we aren’t being silent anymore. History teaches you that you can’t always be silent because it gets you nowhere when people actually want to listen to you.

The best part of being black is your family. We’re all family because normally your race knows what you go through because they also went through it. Going to cook outs and reunions to see family you haven’t seen in a while. Talking to your aunts and grandmas while reminiscing about old times. You can’t forget the best part which is the food. Black people came up with soul food and that’s that. Lots of seasonings, fried chicken, collard greens, hot water corn bread, homemade Mac and cheese and so much more is what it’s all about. Yes, chefs can cook all the fancy food they want but cooking from your soul is different.

Over the years, we have seen many black communities succeeding and many being torn down. That’s why people praise blacks who are graduating, growing businesses, taking care of children, single parents and those who are making a change. It’s called “BlackExcellence”. Such a beautiful word for beautiful people. I can’t wait to see how everything ends. I just hope that we let our voices be heard around the world and change everything.
